The Sunday Salon – Catching up and mindless info

It’s been a while since I have looked in on the blog – life as I know it as intervened enough to have me stepping back from the blog for a while…

Once again I thank the gurus for implementing “schedule post” on these blogging platform – it’s been the only thing allowing my blog to keep going…

Two new piece of business before I give mindless catch-up info about me…

Blog Crawl – In celebration of authors

If you have not seen this poster around –= you have not been looking at the right blogs. It’s the blog crawl season again and Kassa has the list of participant up at her place HERE.

While the list is populated based on those blogger that contacted Kassa when she gave the call – please do no feel left out, write your own letter and post it on your blog… Drop a link to Kassa and I am sure it will be added to the list…

So far I have found a comic book series, revisit a much loved voice that I have not read in ages and went down memory lane seeing one of my Mom’s favourite author getting a tribute..

The event kicked off on the 1st – so you have only missed fours days (not including today) – Here are the links for you, go catch up.

Kris n’ Good Books  - Georgette Heyer

Leontine’s Book Realm – C.L. Wilson

Yummy Men and Kick Ass Chick – Ilona and Gordon Andrews

Ethan Stone – Charles “Zan” Christensen

Nablopomo - Fan

With a new month a new theme is set out for the participant of the Nablopomo – and this months theme could not be more appropriate – FAN..

With the blog crawl happening this month and the weather actually looking like it’s going to reach record figures in term of how hot it get here in the UK.. FAN is such an appropriate theme.

I will be doing a few days posting on this theme as I am a fan of so many things/stuff/junk and I am going share…

Find the Nablopomo info HERE

Some mindless catch-up info.

Outside my window: An absolutely beautiful sunny day on this Sunday morning.. We have been having a wonderful spell of great weather for the past few weeks..

I am listening to: Jazz, every now and then I trawl through my music listing and relax to some Miles Davis and Davis Sanborn...

I am watching: A whole lot of recording of “Criminal Minds” – I still have half of the current season to get through… I LOVE LOVE this series.

I am thinking: I need to start writing my blog crawl letter… Knowing me I’ll probably do it the evening of the 18th and then rushing around to get it done..

I am reading:  “Taking Chances – Parker Grey”. I featured this book on my Excerpt Day a while ago. When I found it I thought the price was a bit steep for 85 pages but it’s actually 134 pages.

I am about a third in and I am liking the laid back feel to the book so far.. and it’s about tarots, which I love.

I am photographing: My niece and nephews, I have a new one (nephew that is) through marriage and he is super fabulous. I am just annoying him by snapping pictures of him to add to the scrapbook memory bank…

I am listing: Books I have read or would like to mention on the blog or Goodreads – I have been in such a slump lately with the reviews, but if I don’t catalogue something about the books I know I am going to end up probably buying one of these books again in the future.

I am creating: My next paper craft creation – it’s summer and birthday, baby and wedding season is here -  the pretties are a big hit at these events..

One of a set of flowers I am working on.

Around the house: With the time so hot and my kitchen literally flows right out into my back yard, we generally end up with ants at this time of the year  - I'm have already laid on the ants powder, but I think this lot has gotten wind of it and have made a new track into the house to find that split drink that my lazy kids never wipe up…

From the kitchen: Pray for us – My Mom is cooking…….. PRAY FOR US…. I BEG YOU !!!!!!!

One of my favourite things: Annoying my kids with insect – my kids are petrified of creepy crawlies…

The children this week: The kids have been on half term this week and I think I have to make an arrangement to sell my kidney to their school to keep them even during the holidays…

I cant handle teenage boys – they are rough, they shout, they walk around with too much electronics and they are just all arms and legs and they are constantly underfoot…

Plans for the week: Other than the two regular post – At least ONE review….

My wish: That you all have fab week ….

Until next week – cheers

What is the Sunday Salon? Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....

That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book.

Life is intervening, but it sounds like it's a good kind of intervening!

I can understand about needing to keep track of the books, even if you don't write reviews. Kinda how I ended up doing the reviewettes. :)
