Happy Mothering Sunday and a little book events pimping …

Mothering Sunday

On this side of the pond it’s Mothering Sunday today – and alas no breakfast in bed for me. My little toes-rags have given me a sweet little altered box full of sweets and they are all my favourite kind as well, Galaxy Chocolate, Highgate Chocolate, some raisin sweets, and loads of chewy sticky sweets…

Bliss….

The only down side to the gift is that the youngest is already making a pretty decent headway into enjoying it himself – so apparently the gift was for the BOTH of us…

Despite that I am getting loads of cuddles and hugs as I am also making the most of the day – teenage boys rarely if ever want to hug their mother…

As for my own mom, she is redeeming one of the handmade gift vouchers that I gave her….  I know I am going to regret giving her those vouchers, but it’s early days yet…

To all the mothers and substitute mothers, fathers who are mothers, family members filling in that post, siblings who are shouldering the mother gig and to everyone else who fills in that spot I wish you a ,

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

A little pimping now

Book Blogger event

It’s time again for the Book Blogger and publisher online conference, This event is mastermind by Terry Kate from Romance in the backseat.

Whether you blog for business or pleasure – there is always something to learn like some easier way of doing all the things we as bloggers labour with on a daily basis.

With a host of people in the industry and even a few outside of the industry Terry and her team pulls it all together and make the entire weekend one filled not only with need to know info but it’s quite an interactive event and so  far I have met tons of people through the chatter that we end up having online.

It’s not all heavy stuff that goes there, there is books and more books to give away – this is probably one of the only event you will attend where you opt out of getting books

So a win win all round…

The schedule and Panels can be found Here (this is subject to change so do check to confirm actual panel) but it is quite a comprehensive listing so far – I already have a few earmarked to listen into.

Over the next few weeks the title received to give away are being posted – so make Book Blogger and publisher online conference blogspot one of your daily stops…

The London Book Fair

For those of us on this side of the pond The London Book Fair is almost upon us..

“This key date in the publishing calendar provides attendees with a fantastic platform to:

Access industry experts both on the show floor and during the seminar programme

Meet and conduct business with new and established domestic and international contacts

Network and share knowledge with colleagues across the industry.

© From the LBF website”

Opening Times
Mon 11th April 2011  09.00 -18.30
Tues 12th April 2011  09.00 -18.30
Wed 13th April 2011  09.00 -17.00

Address
Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Warwick Road, Kensington, London. SW5 9TA

I will be there on the first day as I like to see what’s new and happening in the book industry especially here in the UK… I don't do networking or anything like that – but  upcoming events, plans afoot in the industry and some of the seminars really appeal to me and there is no better place to get it all than The London Book Fair
