The Sunday Salon – Just a wee bit of catch up

It’s the Sunday before the last Sunday of the year and what a way to kick off for me.. We have the weather from hell. We were warned, don’t get me wrong but I don’t think even the weather services imagined it would be like this .

I have at least a pretty decent amount in the backyard to start my own ski lift business. It just came down in bucket loads and sad old me took all sort of picture of the event. You never know when you need a good snow filled picture.

On the blog

Check out my Weekly Geeks post HERE on where I hide my stash of books that I don’t want my kids to get to. It would be good to know where you hide yours.

While I am on the topic of books, make sure all your wish-list are all topped up and up to date as I understand more and more friends and family are  heading straight for those wish-list in order to get us something for the holiday season.

If you are like me – just tell everybody you want cash or nothing else.

Today is the final day to enter if you want to get your mitts on Alix Bekins RELATIONSHIP 201. Here’s the link. It closes tonight at midnight my time and I will reveal the winner in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow.

With these words

I have Lisbeth Jenkins tomorrow on the With These Words feature. She of the The Manituw book, which was a most enjoyable read if I do say so myself. Make sure you come by and hear her side of the story and how she got started

Coming up

Closing the blog

Don’t get your knickers in a twist, it’s only for  a few days. After my last post on the 21th until Monday the 27th i will go on a wee break, I am taking the time to do all the stuff that needs doing around the house during this holiday time. I am also getting my ducks in a row in respect of my blog, as my zest for blogging as wane over the past couple of months – but I don't want to stop blogging, so I am going to ensure I have a pretty decent amount of post build up for those day when I just can’t be bother.

and lastly I have a whole lot of scrapbooking stuff to get sorted for gifts and what not.

I hope all your plans for the holidays are going well, if you can get out please do be careful. If you are obliged to stay in keep busy and have fun with whatever you do.

As I am on a Steampunk reading high at the moment I leave you with a card from one of my favourite cover artist Vincent Chong..

For the rest of the day…

I am crawling back into bed for a couple more hours and I have or two books there to keep  me company.

Until next week – cheers

What is the Sunday Salon? Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....

That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book.

We had quite some snow too this week (but not as much as you by the looks of it).
Since I don't have kids hiding my smutty books isn't too much of an issue. I just keep them upstairs where the average visitor doesn't come. ;)
Have a great break and a super nice Christmas! *hugs*

Wow! Looks like last weekend 'round these parts! Here's hoping that the roads get cleaned up quickly.

I got some snow last weekend, but nothing like yours! That's some serious snow coverage in your backyard.
