Wednesday Musings - Wearing purple on the 20th: My Dream

Today the 20th Oct is the day earmarked as the day where we are all asked to wear purple in support of the gay teenagers that committed suicide over the past couple months..

Go here to see the campaign setup and find other info. It Gets Better.

Of course the BFF and I will have on something purple and later on today will make a walk to the river to drop some petals in or probably a flower or two. The youngest kidlet has a Bart Simpson purple underpants on as he wouldn’t be caught dead with anyone seeing him in purple. The older boy child is wearing his purple pullover – I think he looks cute, but if I tell him that he might just pop a black one over it….. Teenagers !!!!. I am just glad they are supporting the event.

I had another poem about Fear earmarked for today – but something about this one struck me as being right to post today..

My Dream

I dream of a time
When things were good
I dream of a place
Where people do what they should

I dream of a time
When you cared
I dream of a place
Where people don't do things cos they're scared

I dream of a time
When seeing you filled me with glee
I dream of a place
Where I can be happy

I dream of a time
When I wasn't used
I dream of a place
Where I am not abused

I dream to run
I dream to be free
But I need to face up to reality

Purple underpants = awesome. :)

Eric Arvin just posted this on his blog:

I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field and don’t notice it.

EH!

I know it's been awhile...writing a book isn't easy. LOL

Just found a wee bit of time for play and came on by to see what I've been missing...ah, I like the poem! Very nice.

I've got a poll going on me blog if you get the change I'd love your feed back - you'll find it on the left side bar.

I also have a Birthday wish up for Cecile's daughter there today...if you've got time I'm sure she'd love a b-day wish from you!

I've missed seeing you around hon!

Hugs
