Wednesday Musing – Yesssssssssss, Back of the net.

In two days the UK football season starts and as much as I am not a football fan of such - I cannot help but get excited. My reasons for getting excited are two fold - firstly, I get the kidlets out of my hair on a Saturday as they are most time glued to either a radio or a tv catching up on any number of matches during the day...
Then there is my second reason - and it is more nefarious.  You do remember me telling you I live next to a football stadium.. Well the footballers have started training and good golly Ms molly I am in lust...

I swear some of them have bulk up since they were off ....  they do know my feeling about the noise that goes along with every match, the rubbish that litter the street after ever match and the after pub sessions that makes my street a no go area for the entire days...

But despite all that - there is that little demon on my shoulders just waiting for them to turn so I can see their ass’s... yup, Life is good again....

My musing this week is a poem I found and it reflect exactly how I will feel about midway through the season…

I don't like football very much
But sometimes it is fun
Like when the goalie slips in mud
And ends up on his b*m!

Or when the striker runs too fast
And falls over the ball
And ends up head to toe in mud
(I shouldn't laugh at all)

And then there's times when all the crowd
Is silent, and in awe
And some poor player kicks it wide.
It's then I shout out "More".

I love it when it all goes wrong
Players falling, slipping, sliding
Or when a tackle gets too rough
And someone gets a hiding.

So no, I'm no supporter
I don't follow any team
But somehow I keep watching
Things aren't always what they seem.

Eleven men all running round
After a little ball
I don't profess to comprehend
Don't understand at all.

How fans can get so heated
So excited, so insane.
To call this kicking of a ball
The world's "Beautiful game".

I can only imagine some of the good stuff in man candy strolling by!! My heart beats only faster when we have a European or World Championship to *achem* win, the Dutch soccer season is only good when i can watch it with my dad...he lives and breaths the games and his expressions alone make it worthwile LOL

EH, the poem...OMG, hilarious.

I know that feeling about watching it with someone who is passionate about the game.... just their expression will have me in giggles...

I love that poem - it is totally me about midway during the season..
