Weekly Geeks – Your Wishlist and other List

  • Is your wishlist as big as your TBR pile?
  • What books are topping your list?
  • Are there any new releases that you are counting down the days for?
  • Share a handful of titles and be sure to share why you want to get your hands on these books! And if another blogger is responsible for that book being on your wishlist, consider sharing a link to their review!

My Thoughts..

This week topic is really straight forward and after trials and errors with list keeping and managing them – I am somewhere in the middle of keeping on top of it.

On book list in general

I think once a year I end up buying a book that I have already if I don’t check my list. With a lot of authors re-releasing book with different publisher and books that used to be in Anthology – being released as single title, I have to be more vigilant and although I have not (yet) seen a name change on re-released books  – covers are changing and revision are being done, but essential they are the same book, so that list needs always to be check twice.

But honestly my wishlist is definately too much to list here and is about half as big as my TBR  list. I have books that are hard to find or cost a ridiculous amount of money on there and there are books that I might never read on there as well – it is called wishlist for that reason.

Blogger do contribute a massive amount to all my list, especially those that I have been following for awhile – as  I know their likes and dislikes and know what will work for me, bases on their thoughts on the book.

Some of the books on my wishlist are listed below.

Edge of Sight - Roxanne St.Claire

The Iron Palace - Shadowed Path, book 3  - Morgan Howell

M.C. Beaton's - Hamish MacBeth

Cowgirl at Heart The third book in the McCord Sisters series - Christine Lynxwiler

Lion Tamer  - Sutton Fox

JoAnn Ross - High Risk series

Ann Stuart - Ice series

The next book in the Meg Benjamin series

9 Dragons - Michael Connelly

and some coming up in the next few months

Never As It Seems

Shiloh Walker

Three years after he walked away from her and broke her heart, Leo is back in Chloe’s life and that’s the last place she wants him. Not that she has any choice in the matter. She’s in big trouble. She needs somebody to watch her back and he’s the “somebody”.

Three years ago, Chloe dumped a bombshell in Leo’s lap. I’m psychic, she told him. As if he was supposed to believe that. His world is black and white, and he doesn’t buy into that mumbo jumbo. Walking away from her damn near killed him, but he couldn’t be with somebody he couldn’t trust.

His new job? Keep Chloe safe. That’s it. He’s not supposed to touch her. He’s not supposed to make love to her. He’s not supposed to want her…need her…love her. But he can’t stop thinking about her, can’t stop dreaming about her. Now that she’s back in his life, he can’t keep his hands off her either.

The Revenge
Author: Jaycee Clark

A Deadly Deception
By J.P. Bowie

Some things are not always what they appear to be. So Nick Fallon discovers when he is hired to investigate the death of a young man whose body is found buried in a wooded canyon area of Los Angeles. Not that he's surprised. After ten years in law enforcement, Nick is pretty much used to the unexpected. However, he soon becomes frustrated by the bizarre behavior of his client, John Hammond, and the apparent indiscretion of his business partner, Jeff Stevens.

Nick's investigation leads him to a gay bar in LA, and from there to the still recovering city of New Orleans where he finds what appear to be the answers to the mystery. But what he has unraveled is only a small part of the truth. What remains is even more terrible---a trap, where the price of pleasure is death.

Along the way, Nick is reminded of the often-high cost of friendship, and that trust and honesty are essential elements in any relationship---be it friend, or lover.

  Author: Linda Lael Miller

Truth be told, my wishlist could be HUGE, but I have only 3 pages on Amazon ;)

I know I haven't got any of yours, but I have an Ann Stuart that totally put me off ever reading anything of hers again. I considered the Ice series before, but dismissed it.
I know of one book that changed its title with the re-release and obviously that annoyed a lot of people because they bought it not realizing they had it already. It's "Mr. Darcy takes a wife" (I blogged about it some time ago, because it is so absurd), a sequel to P&P, which was self-published before under the name "The Bar Sinister. Pride and Prejudice continues".

My wish list is pretty long but the one I'm really looking forward to is Deadly Silence by Victor J. Banis. It was supposed to come out in May but now it says June. I hope they don't put it back again.

My wishlist isn't that long because, um, I tend to purchase things and then everything is in the TBR files...

You have three pages on Amazon - that is long..

Hope you get some of those book soon..

I am really eager to try Ann Stuart and as I love romance suspense, I want to try those..

From the reviews I have read she is one of those author where it's love or hate her work....

oh that's horrible with that book name change - that would piss off loads of people, not only for the cost of buying the same book - but the time wasted and the let down feeling..

Low blow...

Yes Ms. organized Chris - I am fearing what your TBR pile looks like then...

Hopefully something from my list will call out to you - that are a few thrillers there..

I'm with Chris. I tend to buy things that interest me and then they sit on my TBR stack for months and months or maybe years and years. I put all my books on LibraryThing. Since I buy most books online, I can check LibraryThing to see if I already own it. My only wishlist items are books that haven't been released yet. I have to stop buying books. My TBR stack is over 600 books now.

My wishlist is pretty long, and sometimes I do end up with two of the same book. I ended up writing down what I have and what I want and try to keep track that way but it doesn't always work, LOL :)

I am a little like that as well - but I am trying to read some of the older stuff as much as I can...

Another Librarything user ...600 books, I think that's about average for any reader...

happy reading hon..

Erotic Horizon on 9 June 2010 at 20:07 said...

but it doesn't always work,

I know how that feel hon - sometimes in my zest to get the book right NOW - double books befalls me every now and again...

So I know I need the list more than ever..
