Grant and Jamie are back and you'd think life would be great now, but somebody is after them again.
It's a year later and things should be wonderful. But someone seems to have it in for Grant and Jamie again.
How far will this person go to harm them? Small pranks that they, at first are able to explain away, turn into dangerous events that leave them once again terrorised. It can't be him, can it? But he's still in prison, isn't he? The love between Grant and Jamie is strong and has them ready to do serious damage to whoever is threatening their happiness and their very lives. Enough is enough. Frankly, they're tired of living in fear. They're looking for a way to stop this madness. They're going to find it.

“Oh my God, Jamie! You’re not going to believe this. Wait ‘til you see. I still can’t believe it.” Grant couldn’t slow down long enough for Jamie to ask what in the world had him so freaked out.

“Hello? Wanna fill me in?” Jamie had finally gotten in.

“Oh, oh, sorry. I am so thrilled. What colour truck did I want?” Grant had paused waiting for Jamie to fill in the answer.

“Uh, silver.”

“Yep. Twenty minutes before I got here this morning, a dealer from somewhere north of here showed up with the truck of my dreams, a 2011, silver Tacoma with less than three thousand miles on it. It has everything on it that I wanted. It was a dealer vehicle and guess what they wanted for it? Only three thousand more than the other one. I’m filling out the paperwork right now. I couldn’t pass it up. Is that cool or what?”

“Oh, baby, that’s more than cool. Two years newer, thirty-seven thousand less miles on it, the colour you wanted, and only three thousand more. This was meant to be. I’m so happy for you.”

That had been a good day. Now Jamie was driving the Tacoma because his Taurus was in the shop. He might have to start looking for something new now that he had his PT license and was making more. He’d dropped Grant at work today and was coming now to catch the last of the games Grant was umpiring so he could take him home.

Jamie hurried to the field because he didn’t want to miss any more of the game. He loved to watch Grant when he was umping. Grant was a different person on the field. Jamie had shown Grant many times how much it turned him on to see him out there.

Jamie liked coming to the park at night. The lights on the fields and the sounds of summertime and kids and competition made him happy. Families were everywhere, and it seemed like such a happy place. He could hear crowds on different fields yelling and encouraging players.

The crack of bats on balls from several games going on at the same time were like drumbeats marking the rhythm for the summer song. It could be chaotic but was really a well-scheduled plan that got great results for all the teams involved. He knew this because Grant had helped with it. As he headed up the bleachers, he heard his name called.

“Yo, Jamie, up here. Your boy’s on tonight. He’s puttin’ on a show. I wonder if that’s because he knew you’d be here to get him?” Tony, his neighbour and the county parks director, teased as Jamie sat down by him on the top bleacher.

My Thoughts

After a year together Jamie and Grant are enjoying their life's and their time together. Jamie has moved up in his career while Grant has taken up a new post nearer to Jamie and one that he loves.

The book starts off with Grant in action as an umpire and he is in the thick of things and showing off his showman’s skill. That day, as nice as it was to watch Grant’s skills was the beginning of a nightmare for the boys, as within the next few days things starts happening in and around their home and to make matters worse their much beloved dog Brit goes crazy at the oddest time.

When the weirdness continue with no signs of what was causing it, the boys do all they can which included calling in the law in the guise of Officer Johnson and his partner to help them sort it out.

LOVE, GRANT is the follow up book to LOVE, JAMIE. Where the first book dealt with how Jamie met his love Grant and what happens when an unwanted fixation goes wrong, LOVE, GRANT deals with the life the boys now have together and all that it entails in finding happiness.

If you have not read the first book, you may just be able to muddle your way through this one  as Ms. Miles gives a quick sum up of how they got to the place where this one picks up. Quite alot remain the same in LOVE, GRANT, Jamie and Grant are more in each others pocket than ever before, a stalker has his eyes set on destroying them and to top it all Brit, their dog is going crazy.

This was another quick read for me, as I have been looking forward to reading Grant’s story, so I raced through. While the main storyline is about the boys trying to find out what was causing the worry to their days and nights, there were a few  secondary storyline that I must admit I liked more.

Jamie and Grant has changed, they are more confident in their relationship and I could clearly see that they both have grown and in a good way. I was also pleased to see old faces as well, Brit, Jamie’s dog and of course Jamie’s Little Old Lady.

Something didn’t work for me in this books, namely the stalker angle. I am a lover of stalker books and I quite liked the fact that I knew who the stalker was here, but other than a few scenes that showed how unstable he was, I didn’t get more and after a while the stalker angle was regulated to the background for me.  Some of the details of the penal system also felt unreal for me – but I went with it as it got the book where it needed to go.

I also wasn’t sold on Jamie’s and Grant’s attitude toward what was happening in their home, as they were a bit too unconcerned about the ramification of being stalked.

Despite the niggles I had with this book the cuteness that is Miles is still there – you really wont be able to not like Jamie and Grant and their ever increasing need to show their love for each other. Ms. Wilhelmina also makes an appearance and with a tight support system around them Jamie and Grant were well on their way to having the life that they wanted.

Lovers of Miles work, this is another book for you to love. Readers of heavier more meatier material you will have issues with this book.  For me, a pretty good read and I was pleased to be able to revisit old faces and see some conclusion to something's that was left in the wind from the first book.

I've been trying for a week or two to decide whether the guy in front is CCG with a different head photoshopped to his body.

Chris, I think you're stalking CCG, or you're at least obsessed with him. Tell me, do you see that torso everywhere? Do you feel uncontrollable cravings for candy canes or other minty goodies?
