Farlander
Col Buchanan (TOR)
The Heart of the World is a land in strife. For fifty years the Holy Empire of Mann, an empire and religion born from a nihilistic urban cult, has been conquering nation after nation. Their leader, Holy Matriarch Sasheen, ruthlessly maintains control through her Diplomats, priests trained as subtle predators. The Mercian Free Ports are the only confederacy yet to fall. Their only land link to the southern continent, a long and narrow isthmus, is protected by the city of Bar-Khos. For ten years now, the great southern walls of Bar-Khos have been besieged by the Imperial Fourth Army. Ash is a member of an elite group of assassins, the R shun - who offer protection through the threat of vendetta. Forced by his ailing health to take on an apprentice, he chooses Nico, a young man living in the besieged city of Bar-Khos. At the time, Nico is hungry, desperate, and alone in a city that finds itself teetering on the brink. When the Holy Matriarch's son deliberately murders a woman under the protection of the R shun; he forces the sect to seek his life in retribution. As Ash and his young apprentice set out to fulfil the R shun orders - their journey takes them into the heart of the conflict between the Empire and the Free Ports ...into bloodshed and death

11 Speak To Me:
You've had a fantastic reading week EH :)and I'm hearing much about the cougar themed books. I've got no idea if it will be me cup of theme but i will try at least one book...any suggestions??
I really like the cover you chose, very atmospheric and speaking of covers, is it me or are the breast of the female cover model (Corporate Seduction) sagging a bit?? And on that note i'm going to finish my current read, JL Langley's Thin Star is practically screaming at me to read it. TTYL hon :D
The only one of those I've read is Wren's Ice-cream on the Side. I do have the Andrew Grey one but haven't gotten to it yet. Looks like a great reading week.
I am so not getting that cleavage on Corporate Seduction.
Oh Farlander looks nice, I wanna read too
Great list of books read! Love those titles and a few of them I have gots to check out!
Hope you have a great reading week! Here's mine for this week: http://ruthiesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2010/02/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_15.html
I had the same reaction to the Corporate Seduction cover as did Blodeuedd! Realistic probably, but not what one usually sees on covers. :)
You had a good reading week! Like Tam, I've only read Wren's book (and really enjoyed it).
Wow look at all the books you read! I love the look of Farlander and cant wait to read your review of it!
Have a great week!
Wowser, I wish I could read so much in a week. I love that cover too.
Wow, you've read lots of books!
Also I love the cover of Farlander!
Have a great reading week!
That cover looks terrific... as does the blurb. Thanks for the heads up, EH!
I like the cover to Farlander also! There's a lot there to decipher.
I'm with everyone else here who mentioned the Corporate Seduction cover... after you read it, let us know if the cover has anything to do with story.
Enjoy week!!
Another great reading week, unlike me who only read one book LOL. I haven't heard of any on your list. Happy reading :-)
