The Sunday Salon – I Am So Ready For This Sunday Morning…

It has just been one of those weeks where I have had to get up at the crack of dawn almost every morning. It wasn’t all bad, but I need to relax in bed for a good few hours this morning.

I didn’t read as much as I planned this week, not for any earth shattering reason but for the fact that my life literally stopped for the book Heart’s Blood – Juliet Marillier.

I started reading the book on the bus and I could not put this book down – I had it over dinner, I had in bed and my son probably got away with a few more pounds for his pocket money because I was too much into this book.

I’ll have this review up late tomorrow – it was so good.

I returned my library books this week as well and nothing strike my eyes so  will have to go back this week to get something to get me through the holidays.

Borders UK is in administration and I plan to get up to one of the big shops this week to snap up a bargain if there is any left, books are always a good choice for the holidays. I am going to miss that store – it just one bad news after the other in the book industry recently. While I’m trying to get those bargain I’ll also check out the other stores as the sale season officially start on Monday and I will be checking out what sort of deals are on the Ebook Readers, there's been a few that are filtering into the UK market for the past few month.

I did some work on the INDI Authors blog this week and also opened it up for viewing –Thanks all you reviewers who have dropped your name to be added to the list.

The authors who have also been in contact, I am looking forward to a good year in 2010 learning and finding some great new books and new voices as well.

Check it out here INDI Authors and email me at erotichorizon (at) yahoo(dot) com if you need any further info.

I am also going off blog for a few days over the holidays – no posting, no answering comments – and just enjoying the time with my family.  I will be checking the emails though (it would be too much to ask that of me – I’d probably go into shock if I couldn’t).

I hope the past week has been a good one for you all and hope you have something more than holiday shopping planned for this week.I am off to read Shawn Lane latest release TICKET TO RIDE

Ticket To Ride
by Shawn Lane

ISBN-13: 978-1-60272-622-2

Chad Storm's longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend has a ticket to ride on a plane to Maryland and out of Chad's life for good. But someone decides on a more permanent end to their relationship. Former lead singer of the rock band, Lightning, Chad is working on his comeback album when he finds the body of his murdered ex-lover floating in his swimming pool.

Lieutenant Jack Reeves, from the homicide division, has never heard of Lightning, but now he has a gruesome murder to solve. The more he learns of Chad, the more intrigued he becomes, and his protective instincts kick in when Chad begins to receive strange phone calls—from the dead man.

Jack doesn't believe in ghosts and knows someone is trying to mess with Chad, leading him to think someone close to the singer could have murderous intentions. But his attraction to Chad takes him off the investigation.

Drawn to each other, Chad and Jack begin a steamy affair, and that brings the ruthless killer out of hiding...

From The Sunday Salon site –

What is the Sunday Salon? Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....

That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book

I can't wait for that review. Marillier, well she made me love a book, made me go ok with 2 and made me upset with 2. At least she always awaken emotions

I'm looking forward to your review. I'm not familiar with this particular author.

It's terrible that Borders is having problems. The American division isn't expected to last much longer.

Heart’s Blood must be really good, I'm very interested in what you think about it.

I absolutely understand about you wanting to stay in bed today. I did the same, I had a bruising week at work last week. I went home every night with my brain exhausted.

I hope this coming week works out better for you!

EH the anticipation is killing me, I want to read your review now. I'm a sucker for any of the beauty and beast story lines. Is this only available in the UK? God, please say no.

@Chris...

I so admire your will power - you went in, got the book and came away without look left or right...

You are better than me - I bought at least two others...
