Waiting On Wednesday – Books ahoy

Holly from the North

MYSTIC TEA SERIES
Willa Kaye Danes

A young woman of dubious origins wakes from a strange dream and finds she's been transported from New York City to an Earth-like world of wondrous beauty and terrible dangers. Mistaken as the new tribal 'mystic,' she must use her streetwise skills to prove herself and save her adopted people from annihilation.

Holly Norlander, plagued by dreams that rob her of her sleep and make her habitually late for work, ducks out of the rain into an unusual coffee shop called The Mystic Tea and Coffee Company. After an unnerving exchange with the proprietor, she leaves and discovers she's somehow early - not late - for work. And things get even stranger as the day wears on. The receptionist, whom she's befriended, suddenly seems to know more about her past than she does, and gives her a peculiar warning about her future. Later at home she takes an early-evening nap and awakens from a particularly erotic dream to find herself in a tent, face to face with the ruggedly handsome tribal man in her dream. When she dashes out of the tent, she instantly realizes she's not in Kansas anymore - and she has no magic slippers to send her back home!

Jezebel's Article

Kayden McLeod

Two sexy vampires want to fulfill Jezebel’s every desire. Good thing they don’t mind sharing.
Jezebel has a new job writing a sex column for a small specialty interest paper in Vancouver, British Columbia, and attends a very specialized party…a sex party, in fact, where she meets two of the most tempting men she could’ve ever imagined. And to make it that much more tempting, they are vampires, one curiosity Jezebel can’t shed. Adrian and Doros watch her with growing desire, craving to take a knowing human, from who they didn’t have to cut their true selves off from. One they could play with to their heart’s content. The moment they meet Jezebel, it’s already over. There’s no contest, and now only one question remains: Will she want them, as much as they want her?

The Ledbury Lamplighters
Kerry Tombs

On Christmas Eve, 1988, a mysterious stranger arrives in the small Herefordshire market town of Ledbury, intent on a curious mission. A few days later, on New Year's Eve, as the Ledbury Lamplighters see out the year by extinguishing the town's lamps, a prominent local businessman is murdered in full view of partygoers. Detective Inspector Samuel Ravenscroft is once again reunited with his old friend and colleage, Constable Tom Crabb, and as they embark upon their most dangerous adventure yet, they gradually unravel a sequence of events that threatens the very political and social stability of the country. Meanwhile, the man known as the Whitechapel murderer returns from exile to carry out one final assignment for his new masters.

L.A. Boneyard
#2 in the L.A Series
P.A. Brown

From a shallow grave in Griffith Park, to the bucolic streets of West Hollywood into the dark heart of the gang-infested streets of East L.A, evil is pursued in this dark story of passion and redemption.

Detective David Eric Laine is no stranger to violence and brutality, but even he is taken aback at the sheer viciousness of the murder of two pregnant Ukrainian women. This is just the beginning of a baffling case which leads from their shallow grave to a bungalow community in West Hollywood, tree-lined and tranquil, on to the heart of the gang-infested streets of East Los Angeles, and points in between.

And what of Jairo Hernandez, David's new, young partner? The attraction between them was immediate and intense and growing by the day. Would this be a threat to David's settled life and to a marriage which was solid and satisfying?

I really like Jezebel's Article book cover, it grabbed my attention straight away. Probably all the red from the blood in contrast to the grays. Red is my favorite color. :)

November is looking good so far in terms of good books...
