The Sunday Salon – Another Week Gone !!!!!!

Yet another week has gone by and I had a fantastic time reading, catching up on the broad sheets and just simply enjoying the scandals and titillating gossip from the net.

I had a lot of bumps in the road of my reading this week – so it was all cover and blurb lust for me. I saw it or I read it and bought it… So my tightly schedule reading list was tossed off course by all those gorgeous covers and simply fantastic blurbs..

Another set of my guilty pleasure authors Jenna Byrnes & Jude Mason had a release this week (Over The Moon Anthology) –  it was clearly differently from anything I have ever read from them before, but that's a good thing – it only shows they are a more rounded team of writers than even I had given them credit for.

It’s starting to be wind down period for alot of blogs and the list of best books and best cover and all the “best of the year 2009” have already began to filter through. I think I am going to give all of that best of stuff a miss this year – With all the little bumps I have on the blog,  I am sure I can get my favourites of the year in there somewhere rather than doing a dedicated post.

Coming up on Wednesday on the blog – I have two authors giving me their take on Self Publishing – as I have come to realise that some blogger are so anti-self publishing, and I could not figure out why. So make sure you are here for Discussion Point on Wednesday.

Along with my trusty Window Live Writer – which I can’t say enough about, I have also started using Foxfire – as my browser of choice, I was using Chrome and Opera, but recently I have had so much issues getting onto some of my favourite bloggers blog, I decided to give it a try and it's going well so far... I don't use Internet explorer so please do not even mention using it….

I saw New Moon on release day and I am thanking my lucky stars that I love to read… I will have to watch it again because my initial reaction was “is this it” – the whole song and dance was for this…. Don’t get me wrong, there were some things that I liked alot and there are  some that I thought “Oh lord – kill me already’. I  am sure half the web will be giving it’s feedback on Monday…. I will certainly be watching it again, as sometime the moment is in the second attempt.

Another must tell news – I will be hosting two challenges in the coming year – so look out on Thursday for those post.  I am just finalizing the buttons and Mr Linky, So as long as all goes well with those, I will be posting about those on Thursday.

Hope your week was a lot more/less uneventful than mine and you worked through it and made the best of the week…

Happy weekend to you all…

From The Sunday Salon site –

What is the Sunday Salon? Imagine some university library's vast reading room. It's filled with people--students and faculty and strangers who've wandered in. They're seated at great oaken desks, books piled all around them, and they're all feverishly reading and jotting notes in their leather-bound journals as they go. Later they'll mill around the open dictionaries and compare their thoughts on the afternoon's literary intake....

That's what happens at the Sunday Salon, except it's all virtual. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book

Well, my week was less eventful than yours. Loved to read your many reviews, for sure.
I'm curious about the challenges you're gonna host next year. Looking forward to your post about them.
Happy weekend to you too!

We (sisters, daughters, etc) plan to see New Moon next Friday. Reviews seem to be all over the board on this movie. Love it or hate it, it gives people a lot to talk about!

I've placed a ban on myself for joining any more Challenges but I'll keep an eye out to see what you have planned. Have a great week!

Just go to engoy the movie - there are somethings I totally loved in it and somethings didn't work for me - but overall not regretting the cost of my cinema ticket.

Can't wait to see the challenges you have up your sleeve, not that I've done particularly well with my challenges for this year but next year is a new year, right?!
