To Hell With The Book Budget – I Was Desperate

I got totally fed up waiting for the next spending spree slot to come around, I went shopping last night and blew the credit card to hell. I have to blame it on Val - from Obsidian Bookshelf and Lily  - from I Love Book..

I have been unable to get The Protector in the UK in print for so long – I finally relented and got the ebook and am now rubbing my hand in glee to get to it….

Brandy  - from  B Renae Reads also aided and abetted in my book buying splurge as well…. I got a few more but really I was jut too lazy to list them. But lets just say Blodeuedd - from Book Girl of Mur - Y- Castell and Amy C - from Romance Book Wyrm had a lot to say in my visit to the Book Depository.

The Protector

Soren Buchanan no longer wishes to work for his father, crime boss James Buchanan, nor does he want to continue his relationship with the dangerous and sexy Jolina Miciano. But Jolina has connections that would make James Buchanan more powerful than he already is. Unwilling to be a pawn in his father's game, Soren decides to stop seeing Jolina even if it means having to suffer through one of his father's vicious beatings. Bruised for his defiance, Soren flees to the FBI for help.

Mason Ward, former US Army Ranger and security specialist, lives a quiet life on a house boat docked off the island of Guam. Despite his lack of companionship, Mason believes he is living the life he's always wanted. Then a job comes Mason's way, one that will turn his life upside down: hide Soren Buchanan.

Hiding Soren Buchanan should be easy money, but not for Mason. Soren is young, seductive and lacking the type of discipline that doesn't leave bruises. It doesn't help that Soren's physical presence brings up desires Mason would rather not feel about a mobster's son. Now Mason has to keep his mind on his job while being chased by thugs sent to bring Soren Buchanan home...dead or alive.

Renee Reeves

Night Angel

This emotionally breathtaking and powerful love story is the first published book for Renee Reeves and is sure to be the first of many appealing stories from her. After surviving a devastating marriage, Morgan moves to Montana to start a new life. While there she meets her neighbor, Nick, an ex-convict. Nick isn't overly fond of people. He trains difficult horses for a living, a profession which takes a great deal of patience. While seeing Morgan sitting by a stream in the moonlight, Nick falls in love with the her. Not wanting to scare her, he doesn't alert her to his presence and just watches over her.
When the two finally meet, Nick realizes quickly how emotionally scared Morgan is from her abusive dead husband and finds out just how hard it will be to get close to her. Does he have enough patience to get through to the woman he loves? This romance novel is bound to have some in tears as they hear the heart wrenching tales of both Nick and Morgan's lives before they meet each other. It definitely isn't light hearted, but well worth the read.

To The Victor Goes The Spoil

Amanda Jo Spoils needed some major alone time. She was tired of Pride life and the pampered, self-indulgent attitude of its male members. To think that she was expected to find a mate among the shallow pool of men, most of which had at least one possessive female already! She hadn't spent four years in Special Forces and completed two tours in Iraq to come home and cater to the wants of any man. No, Amanda had some serious thinking to do about her future, and the wilds of Alaska seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. But, boy, are the shifters restless in bear country! Not only has she fallen into the middle of a mystery surrounding an ancient artifact, but now she has not one, but two Alpha shifters determined to make her their mate. She can play them off against each other, but what happens when one wins? Amanda doesn't want a man, or a shifter, especially not a dominant one… But oh, how she secretly longs to be a submissive, the spoils of their Alpha war

By Alisha Steele

The enemy may be his only hope...
