Weekly Geek - Why Haven't I Read This Yet?

I think just about every reader has a least one book that they've been meaning to read for awhile (months or even years) but, for one reason or another, they just haven't gotten around to it. Maybe it's a book a friend recommended last year, or a title you've flirted with in a bookstore on more than one occasion, or maybe it's a book that's sitting right there on your bookshelf, patiently waiting for you to pick it up -- but the thought is always there, in the back of your mind: Why haven't I read this yet?
This week, tell us about a book (or books) you have been meaning to read. What is it? How long have you wanted to read it? And, why haven't you read it yet?

This weeks WG ask about the book/s that we have been meaning to read and haven’t gotten to yet, firstly any reader worth his or her salt will have a To Be Read Pile a mile long, a To be Bought Pile probably hoping to get some funds to splurge on, a pile you are hiding from and a pile that you want to to re-read sometime in the near future and I fall into all the category above.

There are so much books I have that I want to start reading and still haven’t gotten around to it….

Just a few are

Cassandra Clare

Mortal Instruments Trilogy

Women who Changed The world

Fifty inspirational women who shaped history

Karin Slaughter

Fracture

What’s the book right off the top of your head that you have been pushing to the back of the pile for a while now…

I've just started City of Bones. I'm not far enough in yet to offer and opinion but I'm hoping it's enjoyable!

The Mortal Instruments series is awesome. I reviewed it a while back. It's a bit of a slow start, but after that, is great all the way through. Terrific romance as well. Hope you enjoy it.

The one I keep meaning to read, but always pick up something else instead is Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

My top list to read is Sookie Stackhouse and the book series that the Vampire Diaries tv show is based on but haven't yet because the books are on hold at the library. Just waiting patiently for my turn!

Hey EH,
I love this post, but it also reminds me of just how many books i have unread!

Oh man, there are alot when I look at the books and how long alot of them have been there. One that has been there a really long time, Patricia Briggs's Cry Wolf!

I've had the City of Bones book (and series) on my TBB list for a while now and hope to get to it soon. I struggling to get through "Vampire Dairies" before the show begins, but its VERY slow going - not all like the Twilight books or Perfect Chemistry that I couldn't put down and read in one sitting.
My plan is to not buy any new books until I get my TBR pile down to a more managable size, but the temptation to buy more is so strong!! :o)
