Review – To Trust A Wolf – Kate Steele

Back Of The Book

Grrrrrrrrrr. Just out of a bad relationship, Bryn Roydan has no trust to give where men are concerned. She hadn't counted on the determined will of Logan Sutherland. Resistance fading, Bryn finally gives in to her desire, only to discover that the attractive and dominant Logan is also an alpha werewolf.

Filled with a primal need to make her his, Logan boldly lays claim to her - body, mind and soul.

Stunned and aroused in the face of Logan's high-handed and seemingly impossible declaration, Bryn finds herself struggling to accept the reality of his dual nature and feral lust, in an effort to overcome her own past and learn to trust the wolf.

Logan locked up and returned upstairs, anxious to check on Bryn. He found her sound asleep in the wing chair in his bedroom. Quietly approaching her, he was pleased to see the return of faint color to her cheeks and her slow even breaths.

As he bent down and lifted her into his arms, she stirred, grumbling in irritation. "Why didn't you get into bed, baby?" he asked softly.

"I didn't know where you wanted me," she mumbled, yawning.

"Under me would be good," he muttered.

Logan grinned, good thing she's so sleepy, he thought. He put her down, slid her out of his robe and into his bed. Putting the lights out, he quickly undressed and joined her. A deep sigh of satisfaction passed his lips as Bryn immediately snuggled up to him. He gratefully acknowledged his body's willingness to let her presence in his bed go without having to fight off normally insistent sexual urges. The worry he'd suffered when she became sick and his protective instincts were apparently keeping his libido in check. He nuzzled his face in her hair, drifting off to sleep with the certain knowledge that she was well and right where she was supposed to be.

A few hours later he wasn't so sure. Bryn began to squirm around and he woke, immediately solicitous. "Are you all right, baby?" he whispered, leaning over her. She pulled at the tee shirt she wore. "Hot, don't want this," she muttered as she struggled with it.

"Hold on sweet, we'll get it off you." Logan took a deep breath and got the shirt untwisted, neatly pulling it off over her head.

Bryn immediately quieted, drifting back to sleep. Logan immediately got a hard-on. "Have mercy," he groaned reverently, swallowing.

To Trust A Wolf © Kate Steele

Bryn Roydan is at the end of her tethers and frustrated with it. After her last relationship, her reservoir of trust has been used up and she is unhappily muddingly along on the side lines of life.

Her one source of pleasure at the moment is the belly full of laughter she has with her best friend and business partner at lunch about her none existent love life.

Resisting every attempt by men trying to hook up with her, Bryn is not only caught off guard, but put on the spot when Logan Sutherland made a determined  step in her direction. She had no chance – against the attraction and is easily caught and held by the man himself.

Logan however is no ordinary man, he is an alpha werewolf and he comes with a whole lot of baggage and hangers on who are dead set on  proofing a point.

Logan will stop at nothing to protect Bryn, but Bryn is a feisty thing with a mind of her own, but with danger and angst coming from all sides – Bryn and Logan have to face the challenge - together.

TO TRUST A WOLF is a fast pace read that had me not only having a good laugh but eager with anticipation from about five pages in.

The characters were lovable, probably not the word to use for alpha males, But Logan and Bryn had that certain sometime from the moment the author throws them together. Logan is a protector and finding Bryn has only heighten that instinct to protect her at all cost.

Bryn has grown and is standing on her feet despite her lack of trust, but she knows when she has no choice but to accept what is front of her. Bryn character is believable, fleshed out and i could easily identify with her – definitely  kick ass chick.

The support cast are of the pack variety and they come with their own set of issues, that had me wanting this book to carry on while the few side stories make moving onto another book all the more pleasurable – as there are a few people there that just needs their own story.

TO TRUST A WOLF is a part of the whispering Springs werewolves series and I will be following up with next in the series - TO TEMPT A WOLF.
