Discussion Point – How Do You Wind Down

For the past  week or more i have not been giving my blog the love and attention that i normally would. I have not been flickering all over the net leaving my footprint her and there, so i have heaps to catch up on.

I took a a few days off from the blog last week, and only logged on in the evening to answer comment and have been using scheduled post. Since Friday – I literally had all the PC’s off and i just unwind.

Since the inception of ebooks, i have embraced it wholeheartedly – I converted all my print books to digital format and i have the ereader that i never hear anyone talk about (The Iliad). Even my beloved Fitzroy was packed a way since Friday…

What did i do, i did what i normally do when i want to decompress – I grab my Silly Reads… These are books that i have on my shelf and i update as soon as a new one is released but not books i have to read as they are just light in substance and full of fantasy (I know this is contradictory – as some of the books i read for review are light and definately on the fantastic side of the reality of life as well) – Here's a sample of what of got through the past few days

Another thing i did with my few days is catch up on my Fantasy art – I am a fangirl of this art medium. I love the detail that fantasy artist give to there creations, some are less tame and some are in your face and very dramatic.  Here a sample of my collection..

What is your wind down thing to do, do you go back to nature and do gardening or just sunbathe or are you a health person so a jog or a work out might help. How many of you are like me – that opts for a book that takes little or no concentration to get through and what are some of your guilty art pleasures…

Good Morning EH!

I pick out a good "comfort read", nothing too demanding and dive in. However, I love walking and grab a pooche and away I go.

Great post, I hope you are feeling rested.

Warm Regards
L

I think that having that time to unwind is extremely improtant. For me, I'll either write or simply spend the evening with my kids and husband. I also enjoy scrapbooking.

A blog vacation. Hmmm...I think I need one of those, lol.

Wonderful post and your art collection is lovely.

I would sure like to relax now cos dunno what happened to my internet so have to be on sucky library computers.

But when i get home, I will read, and take a shower cos that unwinds me

Video games. That's the way I unwind. I've been addicted to them most of my life, especially the Final Fantasy series, but really I'll play just about anything. I don't have much time for them anymore but I still love them.

Hey Lea,

That sounds just like my plan....

I try to do a walk, not just for the health benefit, but to get away from the demons for awhile as well...

I so go for the "comfort read"

Blodeuedd,,

I feel your pain, unfortunately my PC time is becoming as important to me a electricity so i am lost without my connection for the first few days..

at least you have the library - so a nice book to curl up with is also really nice as well.

I have no coordination, according to my youngest...

I can do Tetris though.

apparently that's not good enough...

To unwind ... walking outside, sometimes crafts and jewelry-making, sometimes reading any non-mm mysteries or fantasy novels.

Mainly, though, to declutter the place and pick up the house and get organized, as weird as that sounds. Usually by the time I've been working so long that I need to unwind, all this clutter has built up anyway that needs to be organized and sorted out.

I like your fantasy art collection widget. Very pretty display!

When I really need to unwind I'll either pick up my camera and head outside to take pictures, play around on my computer with my picture files and make new albums/dvd's or just get into bed and do some comfort reading.

Hi E.H.!

WOW, I'm lovin' your fantasy art collection. The pegasus art is stunning. The colors are so intense. I could stare at these forever.

Haha witch so tacky but so cute :) I'm a big fan of tacky tv for winding down - bad movies and teen programmes on the Disney channel are nice, no pressure activities.

Of course I read to relax but if I wanted a real wind down I'd probably pick up a YA teen romance or a paranormal action/romance book.

Obsidian..

I love people who do craft, it a creative side to myself that i have never explored - I hope you are having fun with it.

If you get the chance - do check out Julie Bell and Boris Vallejo - they are great..

Hey Jodie..

That sounds like my Mum..

Ever so often she just wigs out and watch days of "Two and a Half Men"..

And it's nice to read books that are easy or different when you just want to let your mind go where it will..
