Reviews – 3 Quickkies

Her Millionaire Boss

By Jennie Adams

Chrissy Gable is determined not to be charmed by her handsome new boss Nate Barrett--he has a playboy reputation!
But she quickly begins to realize why Nate is so irresistible to women--and it's not just his bank balance that's so attractive!
Soon Chrissy finds herself tempted to stay after hours with Nate--even if that means risking her heart….

My Thoughts.

This is Chrissy and Nate’s story, Chrissy works for Nate’s Grandfather and is put in a position that she does not back down from. Nate is conveniently back just in the nick of time to lock lips with Chrissy and turns the screws on a shrew of a woman that they both want to see the back of.

Nothing dramatic in this read. The highlight was “Romeo” wooing Chrissy, and her effectively not doing a good job of it and they end up doing the nasty before too long and that’s just the beginning of their trouble.

Another as expected Mills & Boons production with the classic M&B scenarios – but it served it purpose – It put me right to bed.

The Rancher's Christmas Baby (Special Edition)

by Cathy Gillen Thacker

Can Best Friends Become Best Lovers?

As teenagers, Amy Carrigan and Teddy McCabe made a solemn vow to each other: If they didn't find their soul mates by thirty, they'd start a family...together. Now, with everyone around her having babies, Amy is afraid motherhood will pass her by. That's when the sexy rancher pops the question. If best friends can't help each other out, who can?

Teddy wants the same thing Amy does. Now he's holding her to their promise of long ago. Their wedding stuns everyone in Laramie--including the McCabe and Carrigan clans. But no one is more surprised than Teddy and Amy when their close bond deepens into something even more precious. Together, will they ring in the New Year with a baby of their own?

My Thoughts…

A sweet read that introduces you to a community where everyone is married or related to everyone else  - you know the kind  where you never know who will turn up for breakfast or when you want to get your groove on.

Anyhow this is Amy and Teddy’s story, friend since they were kids they made a pledge to each other that they now feel obliged to honour.

To say the family was not happy and they made the story a treat to read. Amy and Teddy has their hands full with their individual business and trying to find space in each other lives without the interfering busy bodies – but it was not to be.

A sweet read. As with all Mills and Boon it has that over before it starts feel, so other than a few bumps in the road – nothing to shout out about.

My first book by this author and i think i will try her again – I like her characters, they were fun.

Outback Marriages

by Margaret Way

"Strategy for Marriage" - Tough, eligible and determined cattle baron Ashe McKinnon took one look at Christy Parker and swept her off her feet. Ashe was impossible to resist, but he made it clear that any marriage to him would be on a business basis only. Why then was Christy fast falling for him

My Thoughts

This is Christy and Ashe story. Ashe is obviously the arrogant overbearing type that knows what he wants and goes after “her” with feral determination. And so the story begins – they say too much and actually say nothing at all. They want but they both end up feeling like being too needy.

A bedside off to sleep read. You don’t even have to think to read this one…

Hey Lea,

It took me a while to get a system going - as I usual carry on reading whatever I was reading until I fell asleep.

However I find M&B - just a bit more relaxing to read before bed -say compared to a a more meatier book.
