Review – In For A Penny – Carol Lynne

The Blurb

What’s the old saying…you can never go home again? Raven Black resigned himself to never returning after being ordered from the only real home he’d ever known. Now, seven years later, Raven is back to face the man who sent him away.

Zane Conner is not only Raven’s foster brother but the only man Raven ever loved. Despite his mixed feelings about the situation, Raven can’t deny Zane when the older man asks for his help in saving the Lazy C Bar Ranch. A boy found dead on the ranch clinches Raven’s decision.

Why did the young boy look so much like he had at that age—the same age he’d been when his own father had beaten him and left him for dead?

The Review

Raven Black is back home, at least the home that he had before he left seven years earlier, and he’s of two minds about the fact. One, he misses his home and all that it means to him. Two, now that he was back home, will Zane be more willing to accept him - faults and all.

Zane Conner has prided himself on doing what’s best for his family, for the ranch and for Raven for years. When he had to send him away years earlier, he thought he was doing it for all the right reasons; now a dead boy has been found on his ranch and only Raven can help him. Will Raven however forgive him for what he had to do years earlier and will he have a chance to make it right – this time?

Ms. Lynne knows how to grab our interest with her books. IN FOR A PENNY is a love story through and through and I definitely enjoyed this book..

Raven has lost so much in his life and just when he feels like he has the world in his hands, it is taken from him and by the one person who has the power to make all the difference in his life. Now that he is back on the ranch – where does that leave him with Zane?

Zane is a sweetheart, willing to step back and look at the mistakes he has made over the years, but still man enough to let pride keep him from correcting that wrong. Now that Raven is back, can he face this challenge and hold on to Raven or will he let him go when the job is done?

For fans of Ms. Lynne, this is a must read. New readers, this will most definitely have you hunting down more of this fantastic author’s work.
